Happy New Year!
Assignments for the Week:
- Language: Students will begin weekly assignments in etymology. Quizzes will be approximately every two weeks for grade 4s and 5s and every week for grade 6s.
- Math: Our math focus this term will be on fractions and decimals. Students will be assigned work for their math notebooks based on their performance on a recent pre-assessment. There will be a problem-solving assignment.
- Culture: Our focus this term will be on physical science and the Scientific Method. Specifically, we will be studying forces and simple machines and culminating the term (in March) with a school-wide Science Fair. Student work will include: written assignments using a textbook, whole group demonstrations, and “explorations” in which students pick activities to complete and record their predictions and observations.
